The Karlstad-born son of a pastor started in 1973 in the World Rally Championship. He contested most of the 45 World Championship rallies with an Opel. His greatest success was the overall victory of the 1980 Sweden Rally together with co-driver Bruno Berglund in the Opel Ascona 400 - at the end of the season he finished fifth in the world championship. He remained loyal to the Rüsselsheim brand for a total of 13 years. He then worked with Mitsubishi, but ended his active career in 1982 to build up the Swedish Junior Rally Team.
Kulläng, who entered rallying with a Volvo in 1962, also had 22 years of experience in the Kulläng Driving School continues.
