D he DTM organizers didn't make it easy for themselves. The planning for the 2010 season took an unusually long time. Now the work is finally done. At least almost. Because the spectacular season finale on the street circuit in Shanghai is still being debated.

Ten races in five countries

If the trip to Asia is like is planned for the program, then the new season will include a total of ten races. As always, it starts at the Hockenheimring. On April 25, the V8 engines roar for the first time in the ever young duel between Audi and Mercedes in the Motodrom.

One month after the appetite stimulant on the traditional Baden race track, the journey continues to Spain. The run in Valencia replaces the guest appearance in Barcelona. The bolides are not on the spectacular Grand Prix racetrack in the marina but on the Ricardo Tomo Circuit, which is around 20 kilometers outside of the city.

Second guest appearance in Shanghai?

In addition to Barcelona, Dijon has also been dropped from the calendar. With Zandvoort and Brands Hatch, two traditional DTM circuits remain in the program. However, the final race on October 31 in Shanghai should be the big highlight of the season. In the Chinese port city, the touring cars will do their laps for the first time after 2004. As with the first appearance six years ago, the plan provides that Scheider, Paffet & Co. drive on a specially set up street circuit.

However, the package is not yet completely put together. The road race in Shanghai is still in negotiation status. In addition, the calendar has to be approved by the German Motorsport Association (DMSB) and the World Motorsport Association (FIA).
