In terms of cargo space, the SW is of course clearly ahead. Up to 1,780 liters of luggage should be placed under the new rear end. With a height of just under 1.42 meters, the station wagon is almost as flat as the sedan. Compared to the previous generation, it is six centimeters flatter. With a length of 4.78 meters, it is three centimeters longer than the sedan and five centimeters shorter than the previous generation. The side doors are frameless and there is no roof antenna.

Luggage space from 530 to 1,780 liters

At the rear there is a horizontal, glossy black panel with three-dimensional full-LED taillights that are also illuminated during the day. The chrome-plated twin tailpipe is intended to enhance the sporty appearance. The tailgate can be opened electrically, if desired, by simply moving your foot under the rear bumper. The loading sill is 6 centimeters lower and 2.4 centimeters wider than in the sedan and is only 63.5 centimeters from the floor. Thanks to a removable shelf, the entire loading area is immediately visible. The trunk has a volume of 530 liters up to the shelf and is almost identical to that of the previous station wagon (560 liters). A loading edge made of stainless steel protects when loading and unloading. The GT version includes aluminum guide rails for securing loads and a luggage compartment dividing net. The rear seat backrest can be folded up in the configuration 1/3 - 2/3 by remote release.

Technically, the mid-range station wagon is identical to the sedan. The 508 SW also carries the latest generation of i-Cockpit, many driver assistance systems and the well-known diesel and gasoline engines with a power range from 130 to 180 hp for the diesel engines and from 180 to 225 hp for the gasoline engines, which are of course the Comply with Euro 6d TEMP emissions standard.
