Hozon Auto will bring its first electric sedan to the Chinese market in 2022. Now there is more information about the Neta S and the launch special model Yaoshi EV Special Edition.
With the Neta brand (often also called Nezha), Hozon Auto is one of the Chinese car manufacturers that is less well-known to us. In its home market, Hozon Auto already has two purely electrically powered SUV models on the market and is doing good business with them. In the summer of 2022, the Neta S will bring the first sedan. It shares the platform with its SUV brothers.
Neta S in mid-range format
With a length of 4.98 meters, a width of almost two meters, a height of 1.45 meters and a wheelbase of 2.98 meters, the Neta S is in the upper mid-range a. There it meets competitors such as the Xpeng P7, the Nio ET5 and the Tesla Model 3 in China. The Neta S, designed as a four-door hatchback with a large glass roof, was already shown as a study at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2021. It stands on the automaker's aptly named Shanghai electric platform, which allows wheelbases of 2.75 to 3.10 meters and configurations with front-wheel, rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. Maximum output of 340 kW, range of up to 1,100 km
The drive concept of the Neta S in the all-wheel drive variant relies on electric motors on both axles, which together have 340 kW and 600 afford Nm. The AWD version manages the sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 170 km/h. According to the Chinese CLTC standard, the Neta S manages 650 kilometers with one battery charge. The RWD version has less power but more range. The electric motor on the rear axle propels the sedan to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, with a range of up to 715 kilometers. Later, a version with a range extender will complement the drive portfolio. The range then increases to up to 1,100 kilometers.
Screens dominate the cockpit
In cooperation with Huawei, the Neta S is equipped with lidar, radar and camera systems and is intended to master various autonomous driving scenarios according to level 4. The cockpit landscape of the Neta S relies on a 17.6-inch touchscreen in portrait format on the center console and a second 12.3-inch screen in front of the passenger. The driver receives his information via a 13.3-inch digital instrument and a head-up display. Leather, Alcantara and wood-look applications create a homely ambience. Many of the seats are electrically adjustable and equipped with air conditioning and a massage function. An audio system with around 1,200 watts of power and 21 loudspeakers ensures listening pleasure.,
Production of the Neta S started in China in May 2022. Deliveries will start at the end of July. At the market launch, Hozon is launching the Neta S in a Yaoshi EV Special Edition limited to 999 units. They feature front doors that open upwards, special light-alloy rims and a special paint finish in either Magic Night Black, Extreme Night Green or Rushing Silver. Prices for the Neta S start at the equivalent of around 47,500 euros.,
With the Neta S from Hozon Auto, another beautifully designed mid-range electric car is coming to the Chinese market, with impressive key data. However, its market launch in this country is very unlikely.
