Alpina B5 GT: Extremely rare, stronger than ever

Alpina crowns the 5-series with the 634 hp GT, which is limited to 250 units. It is the most powerful model in the company's history.

With the B5 GT, Alpina is crowning a long tradition of exclusive special models. Based on the normal B5, the GT brings the most powerful and powerful drive in the entire company history to the starting line. In the sedan and in the touring.

Plus 13 hp and 50 Nm

The B5 GT stays with the well-known 4.4-liter V8 biturbo unit, but it has been de-throttled a bit with a completely revised intake air duct and an engine control system adapted to it. Sum of the measures: 13 additional hp and another 50 Nm on the torque mountain. The bottom line is that the B5 GT comes up with 634 hp and 850 Nm. The transmission software of the ZF eight-speed sports automatic transmission, which is tuned to the higher torque, guarantees dynamic shifting processes and the revised launch control top driving performance.

The B5 GT sprints from zero to 100 km/h in under 3.4 seconds (Touring: under 3.6 seconds) from the eight-cylinder. The top of the speed hill is only reached at 330 km/h (Touring: 322 km/h). A new center silencer also ensures an even sportier sound. The twin tailpipes of the exhaust system are also black with a titanium nitride coating.

For the wheels, the B5 GT uses the new 20-inch forged wheels in the timeless Alpina design, which are painted in the color Marron Volciano exclusively for the B5 GT. As a further special feature, they have a B5 GT lettering incorporated into the rim well. A dome-forehead-wall strut ensures an even stiffer front end, and the Touring also benefits from a subtle lowering. In the lightweight composite brake system, new pads provide even more bite.

Optics minimally modified

Visually, the GT differs only slightly from its B5 brothers. Character lines on the bonnet indicate the high performance potential. The front is adorned with subtle canards and a front splitter optimizes the aerodynamics.

In addition to the classic Alpina colors of blue and green, the B5 GT is available in specially selected special finishes such as Petrol Mica, Verde British Racing, Chalk, Imola Red, Daytona Violet or Arctic Race Blue. The interior allows for multiple designs. A common feature of all variants is the embroidered B5 GT lettering in Marron Volciano with a white outline on the front headrests. The B5 GT Bespoke equipment with sports seats in a bucket seat look is available exclusively for the special edition. The extended standard equipment includes a leather-covered instrument panel and the exclusive walnut anthracite wood interior.

The trunk mat and the floor mats with B5 GT metal emblems are edged in Marron Volciano leather. A production number plate in the interior and in the engine compartment, made of stainless steel, bears the respective serial number of the limited B5 GT.
