D he book lovers already have their luxury version of the BMW 3 Series presents. In two body shapes: At the IAA 2019 the new Alpina B3 came in the form of the touring, at the Tokyo Motor Show it appeared as a sedan.

The fact that the B3 comes with both a station wagon and a notchback is just as unsurprising as their identical drive technology. The sedan is also equipped with an in-line six-cylinder biturbo gasoline engine based on the S58 engine with three liters displacement known from the X3 M. Alpina is generally redesigning the pistons, the intake area and the exhaust manifold, as well as the turbocharger and intercooler.
303 km /h top speed for the B3 sedan
In the Alpina trim, the 462 engine Hp and delivers its maximum torque of 700 Newton meters from 3,000 revolutions. When it comes to performance, the sedan sets itself apart slightly due to aerodynamics and weight: It accelerates from zero to a hundred in 3.8 seconds (Touring: 3.9) and drives a maximum of 303 km /h (Touring: 300).
In terms of the gearbox (a revised ZF eight-speed automatic) and the number of driven wheels (all four with a newly tunedand rear-biased x-drive all-wheel drive) the model variants are similar. The notchback B3, like the station wagon, naturally benefits from the electronically controlled rear-axle locking differential and the flap-controlled stainless steel exhaust system with four tailpipes.

Alpina recalibrates the chassis with different springs, stronger stabilizers and the roll support. The adaptive dampers and the variable sports steering are also given modified characteristics. The standard 19-inch wheels give way to 20-inch wheels for an extra charge. The brake system installed free of charge with 395 discs and four-piston fixed calipers at the front and 345 discs and floating calipers at the rear can also be exchanged for a more powerful counterpart.
Like the Touring, the Alpina B3 sedan will also be available from the first quarter of 2020 Can be ordered at prices from 81,250 euros and will be delivered from late summer. In addition to the B3 petrol engine, customers will also be able to order the diesel version D3 in the future, but no details are known yet.
