Bad start, good end: Is that the story of your race?

G rosjean: Something like that. I had a disaster start. The clutch setting was wrong. I was just able to hold my position, but was then sent into the gravel trap by Sainz at Turn 6 and got stuck behind both McLarens. I just couldn't come by and lost a lot of time in the process. Then there was also the penalty for the mistake during the pit stop. The race was actually over for me.

And what set it back on fire?

Grosjean: The safety car. Everyone drove to the pits. We chose the soft tires and everything got better. In the end, I even fought the Mercedes. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Was it difficult to keep them in check?

Grosjean: Hamilton could not be held. I think he was four seconds per lap faster than me. I was able to fend off it for two laps, then it was over. I only had to keep Rosberg a lap and a half to the checkered flag. I left him nowhere a gap.

Where is Lotus?

Grosjean: We are in a difficult position. There are upgrades available, but we can't bring them. Force India has gotten better than us since the car was converted. In Hungary, McLaren and Toro Rosso were also stronger. But now we come to two tracks that suit our car better because it is more efficient with less downforce. Also there are new parts. In Spa and Monza we should qualify in the top ten and finish in the points with a little less effort.
