Leclerc's first Singapore victim
The two French Charles Leclerc and Romain Grosjean concluded the first half of the classification. Shortly before the end of the first session, Leclerc also created the most spectacular scene of the first 90 minutes. The future Ferrari driver got stuck with the right front wheel of his cleaner in turn 12 on the inside of the guard rail. With the suspension broken, the rookie had to park the car on the edge of the track.
The fans were given a few spins on the still very slippery track. The Mercedes drivers in particular were on the road alongside the ideal line several times. Because the race on Sunday does not start until after sunset, when the asphalt temperatures are significantly cooler, the opening session has only limited significance. After the second training session you will certainly have a better picture of the actual balance of power.
