A ls free practice in Korea on Friday morning on time the whistle kicked off at 10 a.m., all eyes and lenses were on the lotus box. The black racer was one of the last cars to be fitted with a so-called Coanda exhaust, which sits in a duct in the bonnet.

Technology test in Korea

Anyone who pointed the camera at Romain Grosjean saw nothing. The Frenchman was out with the old parts. Only Kimi Räikkönen enjoyed the new technology. There was also a lot to see with other teams. Ferrari experimented with different rear wings, Williams was also testing a Coanda exhaust again and Mercedes tried its DRD system again, which is supposed to reduce aerodynamic drag on the straights.

In the best weather in South Korea, they provided Pilots for plenty of action on the track. Many drivers slipped on the dust and dirt that had accumulated on the slopes over the course of a year. However, the smaller spins and trips to the run-off zone all went off lightly.

We have put together the technical highlights and the best pictures of the action on the route for you in our photo gallery.
