D he first installation rounds have been completed. Except for the Sauber, all new cars are presented. Now the hard test work is slowly beginning. Different setups are tried out, tire wear is measured on the various Pirelli compounds and, of course, kilometers are diligently collected in order to gain experience with the new technology and ensure reliability.

3 German pilots in action on the second day of the test

On Tuesday all 11 teams were in action again in Barcelona. At Mercedes, Nico Rosberg was allowed to drive after Leiws Hamilton had reeled a sensational 156 laps the day before. He shared the track with 2 other Germans: Sebastian Vettel in the Ferrari and Pascal Wehrlein in the Manor already completed their second shift on the Spanish Grand Prix track.

The newcomer Haas F1's racer was there again. After Romain Grosjean's front wing said goodbye at the end of the straight on the first day of testing, the US team upgraded. A reinforced component was hastily flown in so that the test work with Esteban Gutierrez can continue without restrictions.

Alonso makes test debut in Barcelona

The first outing of the two-time world champion Fernando Alonso was particularly interesting for the Spanish fans. The local hero took over the McLaren from Jenson Button. The second Spaniard in the field, Carlos Sainz, had a break after his start of the Barcelona week. For the Red Bull B-Team, the Dutch youngster Max Verstappen climbed into the cockpit for the first time.
