D he Formula 1 festival in Brazil are officially opened with the first kilometers on the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace. Lewis Hamilton wants to celebrate his first win in Interlagos, Nico Rosberg wants to repeat his triumph from Mexico. The pressure in the Silberpfeil camp is correspondingly high.

Mercedes is misleading

In addition, a technology update on the Silberpfeil caused a stir, which actually isn't. The engineers tested a bulge on the nose on both cars, which many declared to be an S-Duct. This is a test for the coming season, when the chassis may be higher.

McLaren also focused on aerodynamics. New front wings were used. Fernando Alonso didn't get much of it in the afternoon. With an engine failure on his McLaren Honda he interrupted the training session. Ferrari was on the road with huge measuring instruments in the rear, which Kimi Raikkonen drove through the area in the morning.

Raikkonen in the gravel

The Finn attracted attention with something else. When he lost control of his red goddess on turn 4, he rumbled wildly with her through the gravel. But numerous colleagues were still struggling with the slippery conditions and gave a few smoke signals or drove astray through the area.

In our picture gallery we show you the highlights of training Friday in Brazil.
