Alonso hangs over Raikkonen's Ferrari

D he race in picturesque Spielberg started with a big bang. The main actors: Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonso, who had an accident after just over 20 seconds.

What happened? At the exit of turn two, the Ferrari driver struggled with spinning wheels before he lost the car and turned left towards the guardrail. Unfortunately for Alonso in his lane. The Spaniard had no chance to evade, took off from Raikkonen on the left rear wheel and shaved the Ferrari. Fortunately, it didn't hit the iceman in the head. After a few meters the two cars came to a stop. The McLaren-Honda was stuck above the Ferrari - and hung diagonally on the guardrail.

Before the accident, the 55,000 spectators experienced a close duel between Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. After winning the start, the German turned into the first corner as the leader, but then had to defend himself against Hamilton's attacks. When he had done that, Rosberg drove to his 11th career victory in the Mercedes.

Ferrari failed on the way to a secure podium. During the pit stop, the mechanics did not bring the right rear wheel to the SF15-T until the second attempt after 13 seconds. Felipe Massa said thank you.
