New FOTA President: Whitmarsh replaces di Montezemolo

The association of the Formula 1 teams has been a household name for every fan since the dispute over the F1 budget from the previous year. Now the team alliance has elected a new chairman. M cLaren -Team boss Martin Whitmarsh will represent the interests of the teams from the 2010 season and thus replace Luca di Montezemolo.

Thanked in a message published on Tuesday (19.1.) the team association with the former president and recognized his achievements in the first FOTA year. With Martin Whitmarsh, the successful work in the long-term interests of Formula 1 is to be continued.

Stefano Domenicali represents the interests of Ferrari

Ferrari will continue after the retirement of President Luca di Montezemolo have an important voice in FOTA. The executive committee of the association elected Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali as Whitmarsh's deputy.

The working group that deals with the sports rules is headed by Red Bull team boss Christian Horner. According to FOTA, all 13 teams competing in Formula 1 in 2010 now belong to the association.
