I stanbul showed itself in the afternoon with an air temperature of 30 degrees and 51 degrees asphalt temperature even hotter than in the morning. And it was even hotter in the second training session on Friday afternoon. Jenson Button turned the best lap with just 0.098 seconds ahead of Mark Webber, who rode the new F-slot. However, the Red Bull driver had to park his car at the edge of the track with an engine failure a few minutes before the end of the training session. It's already the second engine failure at Webber.

Vettel and Webber with technical problems

Sebastian Vettel's technology also went on strike. Shortly before training, a water pipe had to be changed. With his gap of 0.310 seconds on Button, he should not be completely satisfied either. Even Button's team-mate Lewis Hamilton couldn't stand up to the reigning world champion and had to be content with fourth place.

Ferrari reported back with Fernando Alonso in fifth place. Behind it, the duel between Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg raged. While Schumacher was even faster at the beginning, he ended up losing out and lost to his team-mate by six hundredths of a second. That meant seventh place.

Adrian Sutil starts the second training session late

The gap behind is big. Robert Kubica had to accept a gap of 0.945 seconds. For team-mate Vitaly Petrov it was 1.221 seconds. Felipe Massa completes the top ten. Like Adrian Sutil, who drew attention to himself with a spin in the first practice session, Massa also felt his way closer to the limit of the spectacular turn eight, came off the track several times and ruined his tires.

Adrian Sutil missed the top ten and finished eleventh - with a small handicap. His car was not ready in time after the accident in the morning. He had to start training half an hour late. Nico H├╝lkenberg was twelfth and Timo Glock was able to reduce his gap from six seconds in the morning to five seconds.
