H amilton, before Rosberg and Vettel - this one This order should be familiar to Formula 1 fans this season. Even in qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps it doesn't look like a surprise if you take the result of the dress rehearsal in the third free practice as a basis. Mercedes dominated the action once again.
Rosberg clearly behind Hamilton
After Nico Rosberg was at the top of the table in the first two sessions on Friday, it was now Lewis Hamilton who recorded a best time on Saturday morning (August 22, 2015). The world champion marked the fastest lap of the weekend in 1: 48.984 minutes. Even the team-mate couldn't keep up. Rosberg was missing almost half a second.
The rest of the Formula 1 world also kept a good distance. Sebastian Vettel in the fastest Ferrari was third six and a half tenths behind the fastest time. Kimi Raikkonen stayed 2 tenths behind only 4th place.
Red Bull in the Force India sandwich
In position 5 surprisingly gave Sergio Perez a sign of life. The Mexican was only 2 thousandths behind Raikkonen, but was able to relegate the two Red Bull drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat to places 6 and 7. Nico Hülkenberg came in 8th in the second Force India car.
The two Williams completed the top ten. Sauber could not confirm the good impression from Friday. Only places 14 and 15 for Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson. Lotus didn't really get going either. However, Romain Grosjean (16th place) was hindered by Raikkonen on his fast lap with soft tires. Grosjean was just able to prevent a rear-end collision.
Alonso has to skip third training
Things are still going really bad for McLaren. Jenson Button only finished 17th. Teammate Fernando Alonso had to park his car after the first lap of the installation and then did not come out on the track. The mechanics discovered a leak in the exhaust system, which apparently could not be repaired quickly.
