D he qualifying of Spa-Francorchamps could be more exciting are thought of as still on Friday. In the third free practice session on Saturday (August 24th, 2013) Sebastian Vettel was again in the lead, Fernando Alonso was just a tenth behind the Heppenheimer in second place. Mark Webber in the second Red Bull drove the third fastest lap>

Rain in Qualifying at Spa?

However, the fight for the starting positions in Spa could get a bit chaotic again. The free practice could still be carried out on dry asphalt. However, the teams still expect precipitation during the day. The question is whether they will arrive at the racetrack on time for qualifying.

But even without rain there could be some surprises. Like the day before, Jean-Eric Vergne was unusually far ahead. 4th place for the French in the third training session. Sauber driver Esteban Gutierrez would certainly not have expected the experts to come in 7th. Team mate Nico H├╝lkenberg did not get an optimal lap on the softer tires and only landed on position 17.

Mercedes not yet in pole Position-Form

Things didn't go ideally at Mercedes either. After driving the day before with too much downforce and an incorrect gear ratio, the car was converted overnight. But the success of the measure was limited. Only places 9 and 12 for Rosberg and Hamilton. The 8th Silver Arrows pole in the 11th race will probably not work.

Adrian Sutil hopes to make it into the top ten in qualifying. In the third training session it was only enough to rank 13th. Force India team-mate Paul di Resta even finished two places down. There seems to be nothing more in the green-orange-white car.
