E There has been a lot of rumors about whether Ferrari will be in the future would rely on the driver pairing Robert Kubica and Fernando Alonso. With the official contract extension for Felipe Massa, this is now over. The Brazilian will stay with the Maranello team for two more years after the 2010 season.

Massa happy about the contract extension with Ferrari

'I'm happy about it to have the opportunity to drive two more seasons for Ferrari, 'said Massa. 'During my entire Formula 1 career I have driven an engine from Maranello and it makes me proud to continue working with the team that is like a second family for me.'

Team principal Stefano Domenicali welcomes the contract extension of course Likewise. 'Felipe has been part of Ferrari for almost a decade and with us he has grown into a driver and a man who has gone through difficult and happy times with us,' said Domenicali. Massa won eleven wins for Ferrari

Massa has been since Committed to Ferrari in 2001 and contested 69 Grand Prix for the brand with the jumping horse in its logo. He has eleven wins, 30 podiums and 15 pole positions. As successful as Massa may be, alongside his former team-mate Michael Schumacher he was always in the shadows. And the 29-year-old has not yet been able to assert himself against Fernando Alonso either.
