W hen Formula 1 wakes up from hibernation in Jerez only 8 teams will be there. Force India canceled its participation in the first test at short notice. It was actually planned to take part with a modified car from last year in order to collect at least some aerodynamic data and get to know the new tires.

Too little learning effect for Force India in the Jerez test

Now the team from Silverstone announced that the learning effect with a 2014 car was too low and that they wanted to save the trip to Andalusia. Instead, the engineers in the factory are fully focused on the development of the new racing car, which should be ready for the second test in Barcelona.

As the reason for the delay in the development and construction of the VJM08 for 2015 the engineers repeatedly refer to the move to the Toyota wind tunnel. For Nico H├╝lkenberg and Sergio Perez this means a winter break that has been extended by two weeks. With Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel, there are only 2 German pilots left in Jerez.
