RM Auctions Travel like Schumacher

M ichael Schumacher has four of his total in the years 2001 to 2005 won seven world titles. And this bus was always by his side. Painted in Ferrari red, the luxury liner was a familiar sight on the racetracks in Europe. In Grand Prix races or test drives, it served Schumacher and team-mate Rubens Barrichello as a refuge and relaxation oasis.
Now the red giant is for sale. The English auction house RM Auctions will auction the Iveco Domino HDH Orlandi on October 26th. At least 230,000 euros should come around. The seller hopes that the coach designed by Pininfarina will even be worth 350,000 euros to an enthusiast.
Luxury interior for Schumi and Barrichello
In addition to the history, the motorhome also has other things still much to offer. Inside, the luxury home on wheels is completely custom-made with all sorts of extras. The roof is particularly high in the HDH variant. There are two separate lounges, which can be reached via two separate entrances at the front and the rear.
The two living rooms each have a minibar, an LCD television, a desk, independent Lighting, satellite telephone and internet connection. The cabinets are paneled with lacquered wood. As special additional equipment there is a massage bench on which Schumi and Barrichello let themselves be kneaded after work. Of course, there is also a washroom with shower on board.
Ferrari bus with 85,000 kilometers on the clock
Thanks to a 220 volt diesel generator, the bus is independent of external power sources. In the summer, an effective air conditioning system cools you down, while a heater ensures cozy temperatures inside in the winter. The speedometer already shows 85,000 kilometers. However, the 450 hp Iveco engine was regularly serviced - which is what you can expect from a Formula 1 team.
There is one thing that interested parties must consider before the auction. The red-painted bus with the clearly visible Ferrari logos on the flank may not be used for advertising purposes. Otherwise there is a threat of mail from the lawyer in Maranello.
