E some experts had already written off Ferrari before the season. The F2012 was dubbed a bad design. Some even recommended the Scuderia to prepare for the coming season. That was long ago. Fernando Alonso is now clearly leading the World Cup with 20 points. The development machinery in Maranello is working at full speed.

In Melbourne, both cars missed the top ten in qualifying. Seven races later, Alonso celebrated his second win of the season in Valencia. In the rain of Malaysia the external conditions helped. In southern Spain only Sebastian Vettel's bad luck with technology helped. Alonso was unstoppable. With an outstanding racing pace and daring overtaking maneuvers, the local mator fought his way from eleventh starting position to the top step of the podium.

Ferrari engineers create miracles

The Ferrari miracle happened in the design office in Maranello. The Italians already showed the first part of the major conversion in Barcelona, with which the F2012 caught up with the competition. Many of the new parts, such as the exhaust, were only left on the car for two races. In Canada, the engineers ignited the second stage of major updates. Only two weeks later there was another refill in Valencia.

So far, all the new parts have proven to be a direct hit. The Ferrari F2012 got faster and faster and is now capable of winning on its own. The weaknesses from the start of the season - traction and top speed - have been eliminated. 'Our development tools are working again,' said Alonso. With strategy errors in the race in Montreal and in qualifying in Valencia, however, the Scuderia made life difficult for itself.

In our exclusive technology video, we show you in 3D animation what Ferrari was recently doing in terms of technical updates Brought the car. We have also described the individual modifications in detail for you in our photo gallery.
