L ewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel separated 17 points in the world championship. Before the summer break, the Hungaroring asks the two rivals for the next showdown. Hamilton and Vettel could hardly be more different. Their characters are also reflected in the choice of motorcycles. Both the world champion and last year's winner from Hungary showed up on two wheels in the paddock on Friday.

Naked bike versus retro motorcycle: While Hamilton rolled forward on his MV Agusta Brutale and for the last few meters in front of the parking lot Stripped off his helmet, Vettel cruised to the Hungaroring on an old Triumph machine. Vettel should have the better cards on the race track this weekend. In the past, Mercedes stumbled on routes that required maximum contact pressure. There is only one longer straight on the Hungaroring. Red Bull, who believes in success on its own, is also happy about that.

Nico H├╝lkenberg has to digest a breakdown at the beginning. After about an hour, his Renault R.S. 18 went on strike. The Rhinelander parked his car on the side of the road, got out and later helped the marshals to coordinate the rescue. Renault was one of the teams that gave up part of the first 90 minutes for aerodynamics tests. McLaren was once again looking for a way out of the crisis with experimental parts. And Williams is also still looking for answers in aerodynamics. The right part of the front wing and the right front suspension on Sergey Sirotkin's car were therefore dipped in red FloViz paint - the FW41 as a Ferrari in disguise.

It was hot in Silverstone. It was hot in Hockenheim. It's hot in Hungary too. As in the previous days, the mercury rose to 30 degrees. In our photo show we show you the training pictures from the Hungaroring. As usual, we mix route photos with technical details.
