E s is already crazy. Formula 1 is shining with its many twists this year. It is unpredictable. And that's what makes it so exciting. The changing mood in Hockenheim was only a week ago. It is no different in Budapest. Until the third training session, Ferrari hurried away from the Mercedes. The Maranello team was on top.

Then the rain came and turned the balance of power. Suddenly Lewis Hamilton made the laps easier while Sebastian Vettel stumbled in the third qualifying part. The result: the two World Cup rivals start separately. While Hamilton raced to pole position in 1: 35.658 minutes, Vettel only finished fourth. And the man from Heppenheim couldn't really explain the defeat against the silver competition.

It was a qualifying in which good timing was required. The perfidious: no round was like the other. The drivers found a damp track at the beginning, which dried out more and more in the course of Q1. With the start of Q2 the sky opened the locks. The rain intensified by the minute. That was Daniel Ricciardo's undoing in the Red Bull.

Despite the adverse conditions, the 20 steering wheel players rounded the 14 corners of the Hungaroring largely unscathed. Only Lance Stroll made a rougher departure. The Canadian lost control of his Williams FW41 at turn nine and slid into the guardrail. That battered nose and front wing. Qualifying also had its little heroes. Carlos Sainz raced to fifth place. Pierre Gasly in sixth position. The Frenchman presented his Toro Rosso in front of the Red Bull sister team.

In our photo show we show you the pictures from an exciting qualifying for the GP Hungary 2018.
