Anyone who has seen the pictures of Guanyu Zhou's horror crash in the Alfa-Sauber at Silverstone and knows that the Chinese was rescued from the wreck unharmed will say exactly that. Because Zhou must have had thousands of guardian angels that he got out of it without serious injuries.

The British GP will probably be remembered for a long time. Because he offered one drama after the other from round 1. The debris field at the start made the start. In addition to Zhou, whose Alfa-Sauber slid headlong down the track with flying sparks and got stuck between tire stacks and the safety fence, even more pilots were caught at the start. Alex Albon in the Williams was also involved in the chaos and was then taken to the hospital by helicopter for precautionary checks. Neither suffered any serious injuries.
George Russell in the Mercedes was also over early after the chain reaction. He immediately sprinted to the wreckage of Zhou to help and check on his colleague. It also caught Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ocon as well as Sebastian Vettel. The pictures from the start show a single cloud of smoke.
First victory and first points
No wonder the race was immediately red flagged. As if everything hadn't been dramatic enough, protesters also gained access to the track and had to be removed. After a 56-minute break, the start followed again, with Carlos Sainz first prevailing. Until shortly before the end it looked like Charles Leclerc would win after Max Verstappen fought with a damaged RB18 blunt weapon, but a safety car phase turned the rudder around again in Sainz' favor.
