L ewis Hamilton has redeemed everyone. The double points didn't matter. He would have become world champion anyway. In the final training session, it briefly looked as if the World Cup favorite would stumble. But on race day he was wide awake. After a lightning start, he controlled Nico Rosberg until technology went crazy in the Mercedes with starting number 6. Hamilton would have won that way too. Anyone who drives such a sovereign race under such pressure deserves the top grade.

Rosberg was a good loser

Nico Rosberg made it as difficult as possible for Hamilton. His eleventh pole position was a warning shot. Maybe a wake-up call. Rosberg made the crucial mistake at the start. But the challenger was the slower driver even when his Mercedes was still running smoothly. The fact that he was not upset by the technical calamity surrounding the Kers cooling pump and that he fought to the finish, although he was passed up to 14th place, deserves just as much respect as the praise to the new world champion. 'Lewis is a worthy champion.' Grade 9 for Rosberg.
