D he was the highest railway. A fifth defeat against Lewis Hamilton would have gnawed too much on the nerves. Even if Nico Rosberg didn't want to admit it. The Barcelona winner downplayed the psychological moment of his first win of the season. And yet it was more valuable than the 7 points he made up on Hamilton. Because his sovereign drive to first place indicated to him: Yes, I can still beat this Hamilton.

Rosberg had an almost perfect weekend. He won two of the three free practice sessions, the race for the best starting position and the 66-lap battle on Sunday. Rosberg won the start and he led the Spanish GP for 60 laps.

For Hamilton there was only the fastest race lap. That is why Rosberg deserves the grade 10. Hamilton has to make do with grade 8. His bad start is also pressing. When Mercedes changed the tactics from two to three stops, the world champion implemented the speed requirements brilliantly.

Bottas like Rosberg with a note 10

Sebastian Vettel was as good as his remodeled Ferrari allowed. This time he didn't have the slightest chance of winning. Third place was damage control with a car that was on average seven tenths too slow compared to Mercedes.

While Vettel stayed true to the new aero package, Raikkonen got involved in the experiment, on the old version to fall back on. Once again he failed in the qualification. And despite the better tires, he couldn't get past Valtteri Bottas. Therefore grade 9 for Vettel and grade 7 for Kimi.

Valtteri Bottas showed the exhaust pipe of his Williams to a Ferrari like in Bahrain. The Finn made no mistake. The qualifying lap to fourth place on the grid was also strong. Bottas got everything out of his Williams that was possible. That's why we give him the grade 10.
