D he new Kia Ceed GT sucks its air through enlarged openings in the independent front bumper. In addition, its grill, which bears a GT logo, is decorated with red accents. The glossy black side skirts are also adorned with a red line.
The steering wheel, which is flattened at the bottom, has a GT logo and the pedals are made of aluminum. The black leather sports seats have red stitching and are also decorated with GT lettering. When it comes to the trunk, the GT driver doesn't have to make any compromises - at 395 liters it is just as big as the non-GT variants. The backrest, which can be folded down in a 60:40 ratio, increases the storage space.

Tighter chassis
The tighter chassis puts the sporty compact five millimeters closer to the asphalt, and ESP intervenes to brake the wheels on the inside of the bend for more agile steering. 18-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires are standard on the GT, and there are also larger front-wheel brakes: They grow in diameter from 288 to 320 and in thickness by three to 28 millimeters. When tuning the sports suspension, the ex-BMW-M development chief Albert Biermann had a hand in the game. He heads the development of the Korean manufacturer's performance department.
Standard assistance systems include an automatic high beam, a drowsiness warning, a lane keeping assistant and an emergency braking assistant. Autonomous driving according to level two should also be possible: the system can automatically accelerate, brake and steer when it detects lane markings - this works up to speeds of 180 km /h. Also available on request: an adaptive cruise control with stop & go functionBlind spot warning, a parking assistant and pedestrian detection with warning function through steering wheel vibrations.

204 PS and for the first time dual clutch transmission
The 1.6-liter turbo engine develops 204 hp and generates a maximum torque of 265 Nm between 1,500 and 4,500 rpm. As standard, the driver divides the gears using a six-speed manual gearbox, and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is optionally available, the gears of which the driver can also select manually using aluminum shift paddles. A driving mode switch for changing between normal and sport is included as standard with the dual clutch transmission. The switch to sport ensures a more alert throttle response, changed shift characteristics, reduced steering assistance and a sharper sound.
The Ceed GT will be delivered from the first quarter of 2019, the prices will be announced in early 2019.
