D he starting shot for the Paul Pietsch Classic Rallye 2019 has been given. Almost 120 automotive eye-catchers will be racing on May 24th and 25th. However, it is not about who is the fastest, but who has the best grip on his accelerator. Because the special stages are primarily about uniformity and the perfect time to go through the light barrier or drive over the hose. We keep you up to date on everything that happens during these very eventful days.

Day 1

The sun is shining, temperatures up to 25 degrees and fantastic routes - the first The day of the Paul Pietsch Classic 2019 would have been planned by a Heimatfilm director. Past vineyards, through picturesque villages to a delicious lunch stop at the Kurhaus Bad Krozingen. It is also thanks to the perfect planning that the participants at PPC2019 were able to show very good performances.

Even at the start in Offenburg it was clear that old cars would not only be celebrated by older people, but also by the youngest will. The Kindergarten Haus der Sonnenkinder went to the old riding arena with a dozen mini fans. From Mercedes, Porsche to Opel, BMW and Ferrari, all fan camps are represented. And also at the fifth special stage on the ADAC training ground in Breisach am Rhein, a whole busload of Waldorf students from Müllheim kept their fingers crossed for the participants.

Children and old cars don't have to exclude each other.

It was not without reason that they waved Opel- Balloons and loudly chanted: “Opel, Opel!” The nice Opel team did not miss the opportunity to present the growing generation of customers with balloons, pens and toy cars. The mood was accordingly excellent. Especially when the Opel Armada of GT, Manta, Monza and Diplomat entered theExam rolled. At this point it should be mentioned that as soon as another make turned the corner, it was celebrated just as loudly.

As in most sports, there can only be one at a classic car rally at the end of the day Winning team and that means Norbert Griesmayr and Ferdinand Baumgartner in the Mercedes-Benz 220 S from 1959. Congratulations!

Day 2

The For some, the second day was all about “picking up where we left off” and for others “making amends for one or the other semi-optimal special stage”. In early imperial weather, the route led via Durbach up to the paraglider starting point Refuge, where a special stage with 'travel potential' was waiting. During lunch, the sky opened briefly and showed its damp side.

Fortunately, the downpour was limited to this one Time window so that the beautiful convertibles could drive openly for the rest of the rally. Unlike last year, the finish in Offenburg took place in beautiful sunshine under the eyes of hundreds of spectators. An all-round successful festival for classic car fans and those who will become one.
