The 928 turns 45 this year. It might not have been Porsche's biggest star in the 1970s. But it's definitely the one now, with us in Hockenheim - we have it as "the old one in the test" and show what the car costs today and how much fuel the car uses in everyday life.
Our test consumption
The Porsche 928 comes with a 240 hp 4.5-liter eight-cylinder engine, which at its first deliveries in autumn 1977 according to DIN at a constant 90 km/h 11.3 and at a constant 120 km/h consumed 13.0 liters per 100 kilometers. In our test, the car consumed 15.6 liters, which means fuel costs of 28.70 euros for this route. The Eco consumption value is significantly lower at 11.9 liters - the costs here are 21.90 euros. Sports drivers chase an average of 21.8 liters through the combustion chambers - makes 40.11 euros. The annual vehicle tax for the Porsche 928 is 192 euros with an H license plate, without 1,141 euros. According to Allianz Direct* , liability insurance costs 213 euros in the same period.
