C hromeCars from Laasdorf, about ten kilometers southeast of Jena specializes in untampered cars with a history. Now the Thuringians have made a very special catch: a Ford Mustang Eleanor - one of eleven examples that comes from the vehicle fleet of the film 'Just 60 seconds' (Gone in 60 Seconds). In the 2000 film, car thief Randall 'Memphis' Raines (Nicolas Cage) has to save his little brother's life by stealing 50 expensive sports cars. The last car on the list of thieves is a Shelby Mustang GT 500 converted into a Ford Mustang Fastback.

One of the most valuable movie cars

The Mustang carries the fleet number 7, which they have converted for the film Specialists from Cinema Vehicle Services from Los Angeles done. According to ChromeCars, the car is fully functional. The above eleven Mustang Eleanor were created for the film, of which only three still exist today. ChromeCars assumes that the car is currently one of the most valuable film cars.

852,500 dollars for Eleanor

An Eleanor that was used for a car chase and various indoor and outdoor shots was auctioned by Mecum Auctions in January 2020. According to the seller, the Ford Mustang GT500 has been driven 90 miles (approx. 145 kilometers) since the complete restoration. On the lever of the manual five-speed gearbox, the famous 'Go, Baby,Go 'button.

Significantly above the estimated price

Despite extensive engine tuning, Eleanor should also prove itself in everyday life. The auction house calls it' Easy to use in traffic ' Eleanor easily exceeded the estimated value set by the auction house Mecum: Instead of 500,000 to 600,000 US dollars, the hammer only fell at around 800,000 dollars. In the end, the sales price was 852,500 dollars.
