R M Sotheby's is auctioning a Ferrari for children on May 25th at Villa Erba. The California Junior Spider is a replica of the Ferrari 250 SWB California from the 1960s on a 1: 2 scale. The handcrafted model by Harrington is half the size of the original.

The original belonged to a French playboy

That belonged to French playboy Roger Vadim, who worked with Brigitte Bardot and Jane Fonda was married. Like Vadim's California, the junior model is also painted in silver metallic, the seat is upholstered in black leather, and front fog lights with yellow lenses are mounted. Even the yellow logo on the front resembles that of Ferrari from a distance: There is no horse to be seen there, but the letter 'H'.

The children's Ferrari is powered by a four-stroke engine with 110 cubic centimeters . The power is transmitted via a three-speed gearbox and a limited slip differential. Brembo brakes slow down the car. The pedals are adjustable. By the way: RM Sotheby’s auctioned a real Ferrari 250 SWB California in 2012 for 8.58 million US dollars. The Junior Spider will be auctioned without a reserve, with an estimate of $ 15,000 to $ 20,000. That is the equivalent of around 13,400 to 17,800 euros.
